Handspun wool

Here are some yarns that I made out of the wonderful wool I got from Blue Goose Glen. It worked up quite nicely and was much easier that I thought it was going to be. I knew spinning your own yarns was simple enough, I was however a little intimidated by it. Now? I think I'm a little addicted.

The peach colored yarn at the top was Merino wool. Wow, that was so nice to spin up, and afterwards it was SO unbelievably soft! Socks out of it would be wonderful as would a shawl. Either way, it's so nice and gentle next to the skin.
Here's some of the yarn in better lighting. Sometimes I hate the flash on my camera. It doesn't adjust the lighting very well, but oh well.

UPDATE: I added a few more photos for you guys. This morning was a little bit brighter so I could take a better picture of the hand spun yarns. I LOVE working with the Merino. I have to say that. This is a sample of the Dark Welsh yarn. It's a little bit more of a challenge to work up being it's quite abrasive and coarse. It's not pleasurable at ALL next to the skin, but this is great for rugs and as I've recently found out, cat beds.

I spun a multicolored yarn from 4 different colored wool rovings and designed this really cute hat for my Oogie. It suits him quite nicely, don't you think?

And, with some of the left overs I made a cute little beard for him too. :D
